I went in 2006 with a travel agent (by plane) and it cost $1400 rt from Detroit to Nagoya, Japan. But anyways, I'm from Singapore. I just travelled to Japan a month ago. Cheapest return flight was on Thai Airways via Bangkok. Bought thru a travel agent.
